Rahu Kaal: The Daily Time Traditionally Avoided for New Beginnings
Rahu Kaal is a location-specific period between sunrise and sunset. Because sunrise and sunset change by city and date, a fixed Rahu Kaal time should not be used for every location.
How Rahu Kaal is calculated
The time from local sunrise to sunset is divided into eight equal parts. A different part is assigned to Rahu for each weekday: the eighth on Sunday, second on Monday, seventh on Tuesday, fifth on Wednesday, sixth on Thursday, fourth on Friday and third on Saturday.
